Student to student Sponsorship

Student-2-student Sponsorship

On the 16th of June, we launched our yearly mentorship Student to Student sponsorship program at Young Muslim High school in Garissa. The project which was officially launched in 2018 has managed to mentor over 5000 students in highschool and provided full scholarships to 20 needy girls in high school.

An analysis conducted to map schooling levels of all persons aged six and above indicates that only 32.3 % in North Eatern Kenya [NEP] have ever enrolled in school against a national average of 76.8%, to make it worse, only three (3)percent (and only 0.5% of women) in North Eastern Kenya [NEP] have attended secondary schools, against a national average of 8.7 percent.

Our aim for the mentorship and scholarship is to retain students in school and champion equal enrolment of boys and girls in school in North Eastern Kenya.

This year's launch was supported by the US Embassy through the Young African Leadership Initiative [YALI] , Global Peace Foundation and The UN Youth Association of Kenya. With the support of these partners and several stakeholders both from the local government and the national government we are looking forward to expanding our number of impacts this year.
